nobody can save you but
yourself
and you're worth saving.
it's a war not easily won
but if anything is worth winning then
this is it.

think about it.

"I have a stack of deadlines a mile high, but I think I’m also going to sit around with a bottle and just think for a while. The thinking time is essential. At least half of all writing involves just sitting and staring into space. Letting your brain out to hunt down ideas, bringing them back all warm and bloody between its teeth."

Thinking that this is the best ANTM final two ever. y/y?

Pleased with my latest measurements. Waist and hips are down 1.5 and 2.5 inches respectively, and body fat has dropped by 5%!

Equally excited and intimidated for my first spinning class tonight!

Starting week two of my couch-to-5k program. Last week was surprisingly easier than I had expected!

Frequently Asked Questions

humilitynow:

What is Humility Now?

Humility Now is a non-profit organization based on the idea that true humility counts others more significant than yourself. Our vision with Humility Now is to mobilize those who thirst for opportunities to practice true humility. Through events, campaigns and advocacy, we hope to extend the opportunity to not only serve the hurting in our communities but also, acknowledge their humanity. Get to know the starving, thirsty, and homeless. All too often we hear of tragedies in far off continents, disease, malnutrition, and slavery, but forget hurting in our own backyard.

How can I get involved?

Starting next year we will begin having monthly meet-ups/ picnics where we’ll make sandwiches with our homeless friends, play ultimate frisbee, and really, whatever else comes to mind! Basically hang out, get to know each other, and have a good time! Until then, we have our Homeless BBQ/ Clothing Drive coming up on Thanksgiving morning in Downtown Miami, and a Homeless Adoption program which will give you the opportunity to give a personalized Christmas gift to one of our homeless friends. More information on that will be announced soon!

To keep updated on everything we do, please follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Myspace!

What if I don’t live in South Florida?

As of now, Humility Now is based in the greater Miami area, but we are looking for people all over the country to participate and start their own groups in their communities.

Tell me more about starting a Humility Now group in my city!

The group currently established here in Miami is the test group, or Beta, if you will. If you decide to start your own group, you would participate in our seasonal events (Homeless BBQ for Thanksgiving, Homeless Adoption for Christmas), but host them your own city. Don’t worry though, you’ll be in close contact with us, and we’ll help you every step of the way to ensure it’s success! We also encourage you to have monthly, or bi-monthly meet-ups/ picnics like the ones we described earlier! Please email us at info@humilitynow.com if you’re interested with your city name in the subject line and we’ll help you get started!

Your Myspace profile says that T-shirts are coming soon. How soon?

Our myspace profile shows two of our upcoming t-shirts! We’ll be releasing them in January along with one or two more as part of our “One for One” program! For every shirt we sell, one will be given to our homeless friends! Pre-sales will start on the second week of January, and they’ll ship by the end of the month! More info on that coming soon!

Can I donate?
Absolutely! We accept donations of any size. Click here to donate!

Where does the donation money go?

Whether it’s to buy food for the homeless, organize events, or keep our organization running, all funds go directly to help the hurting in our community. We believe in keeping operation costs at a bare minimum to ensure that every dollar raised is used to it’s fullest extent.

What can I do right now?

Promote, promote, promote! Help spread the word via social networking (Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Tumblr, etc.), conversations, and any other creative way you can think of!

Tumblr users: Please re-blog!
